After our first collaboration, this was a special project for Alicia’s new jewelry collection which launch in August. When we think of summer, we think of beaches, bikinis, and drinks by the water. Of course, the plan for this shoot was to incorporate those elements, but with a COVID-19-friendly twist: Backyard Summer Oasis.

The need to travel and have fun in the sun is tempting, but Alicia wanted to promote the luxuries of summer activities with social distancing. Already, I had so many ideas on how to style this shoot together!

Pool? Check. Mood Board? Check. Model? Check. Products? Check. Decor…?

I definitely needed to do some shopping! I took a lot of things from my home to start: Palm pants, pillows, rugs, ukulele, and my favorite wooden divider from World Market!

To pull everything together, I went out to buy some curtains, breakfast trays, and accenting dishware.

Some of my favorite shots were the ones we planned in the pool! Alicia had mentioned the floral baths of Bali, which was a bucket list item of hers.

Well, I didn’t have a fancy bath tub, but we did have flowers and a pool! After doing a bit more research, it’s common to have a meal-spread tray to indulge yourself as a part of the whole experience. I decided to do just that!
